Hello,
My name is Lady. I was dropped off along a dirt road in rural Georgia because nobody wanted me. Luckily, I stumbled upon a beautiful farm where the owners gave me lots of food and fresh water. I was a little skiddish at first because this was my first experience with a civilized family, but I quickly got comfortable and realized they wanted to help me. They took great care of me, including taking me to the vet to get spayed and for my shots. The vet told them I was 1.5 years old, but I think I am closer to 1 year. I still think I am a bit of a puppy.
Because the nice family leaves the farm for weeks at a time, they knew they could not give me the attention I needed. I love people and other dogs, and it gets lonely at the farm when I am all by myself. Unfortunatley, they did not have any luck with finding a home for me. As a last resort they were going to have to take me to the pound and hope someone would adopt me from there. Luckily, Jim and Molly said I could stay at their house and give me one more shot to find a home. I love it here because I get to play with their two dogs Jack and MoMA. They also know lots of people with dogs and I love playing with all of them, too! The big problem is that this house is very small and three dogs is simply too many. I really need for a forever home. Can you help?
I love to go for walks and am great on a leash. Even without a leash I stay close, but be careful... you can get a ticket for that. I had never spent any time inside of a house until I got here, but I know that waiting to go to the bathroom until I get ouside is what dogs are supposed to do. Luckily Jim and Molly have a fenced backyard because I like to run around. By themselves, walks on a leash would not be enough. I still think I’m a puppy, remember?
Like a puppy, every once in a while, I get a little jumpy. This only happens when I get really excited, but I am quickly learning that it's not a good way to get attention. In fact, I am much more likely to get the attention I want when I stay down. When at the farm, and left for long periods of time, I chewed a few things because I was bored. I'm still kind of a puppy, remember? Jim and Molly are teaching me that being in a crate while they are gone is really not that bad. It keeps me out of trouble and it’s actually quite comfortable. Pretty soon I won't need the crate, but in the meantime, I don't mind it.
Jim and Molly can tell you anything else you would like to know about me. I wish I could stay here, but it is REALLY crowded and I know they can't keep me for very long. Please Help. If you don't have room for me, can you think of someone that might? Do you know of any rescue groups that can help? If you can take care of me, I will take care of you.
